The King is Rising

Moose Rising

Quite simply the biggest bull moose I’ve ever seen. This giant beast was filmed in Glacier National Park, truly the land of giants. I encountered the bull as he fed in a twenty acre pond in the mountains.

He did not stay for long.

The bull also didn’t care for my presence unless I was lying prone. Wind chopped up the pond surface (note the waves), and the temperature was in the teens with the wind chill. The moose was not fased.

Rut Crazed

White-tailed bucks are notorious for their caution and flight-response. I considered myself fortunate to catch a shot of this enormous drooling buck at riverside. The buck was distracted with the rut, permitting my presence for only a few seconds. Note the bulging eyes. The buck was out of breath, but ready to go back for more.

Royal Elk

Golden Flight

For years I tried capturing the majestic golden eagle in flight. Not so easy. Their cousins, the bald eagle, are a touch easier to locate and observe. But with goldens, you need perseverance and luck. I feel extremely fortunate to have witnessed this great bird so close. Taken in the great state of Montana.
