It’s been a great summer. I’ve been in and around Missoula, Montana, working on a variety of projects and also doing a bit of socializing. It’s been dang hot since early July and I’m doing my best to keep hydrated. I’ve been incredibly active in all contexts, and honestly could use a break but I’m not even sure I know what that is anymore. So here’s some news.
1. I recently qualified for SAG (Screen Actors Guild) from some recent on-screen TV work. I never thought I’d qualify for SAG before SWG, but life is funny that way.
2. My new novel, “Lost Planes, Lost River”, an epic about an FBI agent and an isolated wolf pack in Idaho is being shopped by my agent. So for those of you who come up to me out in the woods or downtown and say “you need to write a new book”, there’s the new book. 😉
3. “The Puller” movie, based on my debut novel, is still in development by a talented producer. I’ve seen the script and it is awesome.
3. Work on my new documentary “Leaving Montana” is full steam. Half of the script is done and half the footage. This is a life-long love letter to Montana and what’s happening to this state. It’s going to piss some folks off…but not who you think. Some of the footage I’ve posted on social media that went viral will be in the film, plus much more. I’m excited to share a trailer soon, and the blending of writing and filmmaking seems to be a natural evolution for me.
4. I’m working on a new novel based in Montana. Psychological suspense.
5. I’ve got another new novel out with my agent called “The Prairie’s Lament”, which just received a fresh round of edits. This and “Lost Planes”, are imho, my best work. I’m excited for them to find a proper home soon. Like “The Puller” these novels contain conservation themes combined with thriller and literary elements.
6. My Facebook is nuts. We’re hitting 3 million to 6 million views a month. I’m incredibly appreciative and happy to keep churning out content and connecting with everyone.
There’s a lot going on. I’m honestly overwhelmed a bit, to the point I don’t have much time for anything else, and what free time I do have I’m basically just unwinding at my favorite bar.
I appreciate all of you who’ve stuck by my side on this journey, for buying my books, sharing my social media posts, etc. None of this is possible without you all.
Best,
– Michael

Hi Michael, I only stumbled across one of your TikTok post via Facebook It took my breath away do you watch the short clip I could only imagine the full video. The moose one swimming across the lake absolutely stunning. So I thought I would start to follow you along via Facebook and occasionally click on your TikTok’s. Keep up the amazing work you were put here on earth or just that. ❤️

Thank you, very nice of you to say! Glad you liked the video of moose crossing the lake. There’s a lot more of that.
It’s been incredible watching your journey unfold. So many amazing projects in the works!
Thank you Sage!
Michael, your photos and videos are outstanding! I’ve only been to Montana once and that was almost six years ago.
I was blown away by it’s majestic beauty. I’ve lived in Colorado for forty years now and even though I’ve not seen as much as there is here to assimilate, I believe Montana has the edge.
In addition. I had no idea of all of the projects that you are undertaking and seemingly all at once.
Kudos and congratulations to you!
Last but not least, thank you for all of your fine photos and videos!
In closing, I find myself not going to the places that I long to go for the simple fact of overuse and overcrowding of our natural places by too many humans on this earth.
Hey Scot, thanks for the kind words! And I totally hear you on the overcrowding! My suggestion is to look at less popular national forests and BLM land in the area.
